I'm Shaun. I'm old, I'm blind, and I'm annoyed. No, this isn't the worst Tinder profile ever. It's the reason this place exists: I'm annoyed by software I can't use with my screen reader.
Every project here came out of a problem I hit myself. Just bought a shiny new RODECaster Pro II mixing desk? Oh wait, I can't use its touchscreen and the software is no better. Fancy getting productive with an Elgato Stream Deck? Oh wait, that software is totally and utterly unusable. And I'm lovin' the two new Keychron keyboards I've just got, so I'd better love them exactly as they are, because the Launcher site you customise them on is a write-off too.
Thanks to 'vibe coding' we can now build for ourselves the thing we have spent years asking developers and big tech companies to do. Just make your software accessible. Right, rant over.
So these are apps built to fix my own problems, put here in case they fix yours too. I'm not a coder and I won't pretend otherwise, but I've tested them on whatever hardware I have to hand, and in some cases friends have tested them on their setups too. What I have to hand at the moment is Windows, NVDA and a Claude Code subscription. If vibe-coded software makes you wary, fair enough, I'd be wary too. So I go through every project looking for repeated code, dead functions and anything that has stopped earning its place.

Dial
An NVDA add-on that turns a volume dial into a launcher. Turn the dial to move through your own categories of websites, folders, files, applications, internet radio stations, workspaces, text snippets and world clocks, then press to launch whatever you landed on. No dial? Dial mode gives you the whole add-on from the arrow keys.
AccessCaster
An app that makes the RODECaster Pro II and Duo mixing desks accessible to screen reader users. It replaces Rode's own inaccessible software and touchscreen, and pressing a button or moving a fader on the desk is now announced out loud.
Access Key
A remapper for Keychron keyboards that a screen reader can actually read. It is one web page that does the job Keychron's own configurator does, so you can change what your keys do without needing sighted help.
Claudio
An accessible Windows desktop app for Claude Code. It puts the conversation in an ordinary window you can read and navigate normally, instead of leaving you to follow a terminal, and it drives the copy of Claude Code you already have installed.
