The app itself: the tray icon and this window

AccessCaster is two things: a program that sits in the notification area, and this page, which is how you drive it. Closing this window does NOT close the app, and that is the point: the program carries on running, your keyboard shortcuts carry on working from whatever you are doing, and the announcer carries on telling you what the unit is up to. It is also why one window is all there is; opening the app again brings this one back rather than starting a second copy.

Reach the icon with the Windows key and B, then arrow to AccessCaster and press the applications key or Enter. Its menu holds three things: Open AccessCaster, which brings this page back, Announcer, which switches spoken announcements off and on and is ticked while they are on, and Quit, which stops the program properly, shortcut keys and all.
